Hi Martin,
Your sales pitch is pretty far fetched and misinforming as well (i.e. the
comparisons regarding a 2 year old AXP with a brand new Raptor II), and you also
forgot to mention value comparisons.
I own a Cobra/275MHz, and it is giving me some very fast rendering performances
running on WindowsNT3.1 and using Real 3D.
I excpect to purchase Lightwave 3D as well in the future, and I don't think I
compromised in either the components' genuine nature, or price/performance wise.
I do admit that I should have waited a bit to see how the software developments
are doing, but I love speed, and I could never go back to my Amiga
3000Tower/35MHz Mercury.
I will not go into details about comparisons, and how you compared the wrong
products together. You might have a reason doing so. I just wanted to tell the
readers of this list, that there is a different side to your story. If anyone
needs detailes, I can mail some SIGGRAPH tests - no scientific stuff, but
pleasing to my choice of computer and wallet.
Best regards,
Aranka
